Online Parenting Courses

  • For parents of children with ADHD,  we recommend is: Kings Collage London,  Understanding ADHD. Through the course you will learn about ADHD as a developmental disorder, considering controversies related to the condition. You will learn about the diagnosis and best practice treatment of ADHD as you build your empathy towards people with ADHD. You will also learn practical strategies to help the educational and personal development of people with ADHD. The course is free without a certificate, for a certificate there is a small fee.   • For parents with children  with autism. This is a free course, Understanding autism.  The course explains how ideas about autism have evolved and explores diagnosis, causes, intervention and life-span development. Widely varying perspectives on autism are illustrated and key societal and cross-cultural issues highlighted. www.open.edu/openlearn
  • General parenting- The Solihull approach online course for parents ‘Understanding your child’, for parents of children aged 6 months to 18 years.  There is a small fee for the course.solihullapproachparenting.com/online-courses/
  • Parenting general – This is a free course. It explores what parenting actually means, what is meant by quality parenting, and how it can be enhanced and promoted. The course is of interest to anyone who is, might become or works with parents. www.open.edu/openlearn
