 FLASH and TEEN FLASH workshops

We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver a programme of FLASH and TEEN FLASH workshops in Colchester. This funding will enable us to expand our services and provide valuable support and opportunities for local families and young people.

We are currently finalising venues and dates and look forward to sharing further details including how to refer to the FLASH and Teen FLASH workshops in the coming weeks. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for their support and investment in community-focused initiatives.

We are also awaiting the outcomes of additional funding applications for our other parenting programmes and several new projects currently in development. As funding is confirmed, we will update this page with information about upcoming groups, projects, locations, and referral pathways.

Meanwhile the Parent resources pages Parents Resources – Ministry of Parenting  and the TEEN FLASH website Self Harm Talk – Ministry of Parenting are available to all families

1 – 1 Support

One to one private coaching sessions

We have taken the difficult decision to take a break from delivering our one to one work. The reason for this is over the last few years we have had received a very high demand for our group programme work from parents and carers from all over Essex and across the UK. We were concerned with parents having to go on a long waiting list and having to travel miles to access the groups or workshops.  We also had requests for more training for professionals in awareness of the key principles of working with young people who self-harm and their families. Therefore, we are NOT accepting referrals for one to on work at this current time.  Instead, we are concentrating on the funding for our group programmes and training delivery of the Incredible Years, STOP and FLASH programme and the development of the TEEN FLASH and SHARPS (Supporting Holistic Approaches-Risk, Parents & Self-Harm) trainings. We are also updating our resources and supporting professionals in their local delivery via supervision and logistical support. Our hope is this will enable more services across the county and country to be equipped to deliver groups and inventions to parents and young people.
