Essex area 

We have been very fortunate to of had received project funding from the National Lottery, which supported the Colchester based FLASH group workshops and the development of the TEEN FLASH programme. This project has come to an end.  The success of the project outcomes has led us to develop the Teen FLASH programme group facilitators manual and the Teen FLASH group facilitators training programme.   

For us to disseminate the Teen FLASH training effectively we have taken a break from running our Colchester based FLASH and Teen FLASH group workshops. Therefore, we are NOT accepting referrals for our Colchester based FLASH or Teen FLASH groups.

Teen FLASH professionals group facilitators training took place in April 2025 in Dorset and in Essex in May and September 2025. We have further trainings planned for 2026. Our hope is the dissemination of the Teen FLASH training will enable more services across the county and country to be equipped to run the Teen FLASH groups.

For parents across Essex please contact the Essex family and Wellbeing services @  https://essexfamilywellbeing.co.uk/services/family-support/ to enquire about the FLASH groups and up coming Teen FLASH groups. Coping strategies for parents and carers, looking after the family, putting it all together, evaluation and ending

I think the realisation that she is not alone but more than that, it shifted her belief that others only harm for attention and they do not mean it and therefore that is how others will view her. I think she understands now that it is a real management strategy but there are others that are more helpful and still effective. She has not harmed herself in several weeks and seems to be coping with difficult moments more effectively.
