Very interesting presentation on Time Out “Parent-child discipline in the 21st century: What is the truth about Time-out?” In this video Professor Mark Dadds, a Clinical Psychologist, Director of Growing Minds Australia and Co-Director of the Child Behaviour Research Clinic, reviews the evidence for the use of Time-out as a parental discipline strategy. Is it harmful? How should it be used? What about its use with children who have attachment problems and trauma histories?
Summary: indicates there is no evidence it is hurtful and actually shows research that it is helpful if used in a trauma-informed, sensitive way for promoting attachment.
